Mike Procyshyn

"I just want to craft something that will last... I can recall moments throughout my life where lyrics in songs hit me, like they were written just for me. That's what I'm striving to accomplish."

Informed by his life in Kenora, Ontario, and a quick wit: He conjures UFO's, low rent hotels, while a collection of broken hearted characters form the cast. Mike works with these elements to create relatable stories to meet his modern interpretations on classic sounds.
With musical influences ranging decades, modern and antiquated, the constant criteria was to keep the song at the forefront. 'Lonesome Boxcar' grew from a group assembled to record "I'm attempting clever", to a fully functioning live act; Providing the sonic footprint that respected that sounds of the past, while invoking modern sounds. Johnny Cash, by way of John Lennon.

In the two years following that release, the band found themselves on numerous local stages, as well as festival appearances including the "Moose n' Fiddle", "Trout Forest Music Festival" and "Harbourfest". In 2017, they released their second collective album "Mixtape (for an old flame)" on digital, CD and vinyl. "Mixtape" expanded upon the sounds and themes explored in "Clever", utilizing the strengths and sounds built from playing as a fully realized band.
